Dude!
The whole 808's & Heartbreak album is unreal. I dig!
I pray this "Robocop" song never gains cultural prominence. The last thing I need is for one of my childhood heroes to be co-opted by Kanye as a flimsy insult to be hurled at a girlfriend. The lyrics to that song are so reductive and one-sided, it just sounds like constant complaining.
And I can already hear college dudes everywhere saying "man, my girl is being such a fucking Robocop, bro!"
P.S. Sorry to make my first comment on your blog so negative. I think Kanye should stick to producing music and stay off the microphone. But I know I'm in the minority.
I don't mind a little opposition. :-) I still feel that Kanye's lyrics have an endearing, realistic vibe.
It's slightly comical and totally enjoyable. I don't think he meant it to be super serious. That was for the last albumn. :-)
Aaaaaand...it really has a pleasant beat.
